At West Suffolk Vineyard Church, we believe life is better when we do it together. That’s why Kinships or Home Groups are such an important part of our church community. They’re a place where you can be yourself, build genuine friendships, grow in your faith, and find support through the highs and lows of life. They are our main way of pastorally connecting and caring for everyone in church.


Kinships and Home Groups are places where we can experience “A real meeting with God and a real meeting with each other”.


Groups meet regularly in homes or at church, creating space to share life, learn together, pray, and encourage one another.

Have questions about joining a Kinship or Home Group? We’ve put together some helpful answers to guide you as you find the right group for you.

  • What if I don’t know which group to join?

    Feel free to chat to the leaders of individual groups to find out more about them. Or contact the office and we would be happy to help you find a group.

  • Will I get my choice?

    Yes – except for the odd exception when the group has a number limit, you will be able to see before you sign up if a group is full or not.

  • What if I choose a group but don’t like it?

    That’s fine – you won’t have to stay! Chat with the leaders of your current group and they’ll be happy to find somewhere else that suits you.

  • How long have I got to book?

    As soon as possible, some groups may have already started. Some groups have limited spaces, so book early to secure a place! But you can book into a group at any time.

  • What’s the difference between a Kinship Group and a Home Group?

    They are the same groups where we expect “A real meeting with God and a real meeting with each other” and they will have worship, Bible, prayer, friendship and pastoral care. In Bury St Edmunds they are known as Kinship Groups (from “kith and kin”; family connection) and in Sudbury we have retained their previous name of Home Groups (because they meet in people’s home and have that home and family feel).
